Adenosine stress CMR with spiral pulse sequences accurately detect CAD

چکیده
Background Adenosine stress perfusion imaging with CMR has been limited by motion-induced dark-rim artifacts, which may be mistaken for true perfusion abnormalities. We have previously demonstrated that spiral pulse sequences can produce high quality first-pass perfusion images.[1] We have further improved this spiral technique using high-resolution variable density spiral trajectories and a novel density compensation function which reduces Gibbs ringing.[2] We aimed to test the clinical performance of this improved spiral perfusion pulse sequences with adenosine stress for the detection of obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD).

Adenosine stress CMR with variable density spiral pulse sequences accurately detects CAD with minimal dark-rim artifacts
Background Adenosine stress CMR perfusion imaging has numerous advantages over competing modalities for assessing CAD demonstrating high diagnostic and prognostic utility. However, adenosine stress CMR perfusion imaging is limited by motion-induced dark-rim artifacts (DRA) which may be mistaken for true perfusion abnormalities. We have previously demonstrated that a high-resolution variable-den...
متن کاملGadolinium-Free Cardiac MR Stress T1-Mapping to Distinguish Epicardial From Microvascular Coronary Disease
BACKGROUND Novel cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) stress T1 mapping can detect ischemia and myocardial blood volume changes without contrast agents and may be a more comprehensive ischemia biomarker than myocardial blood flow. OBJECTIVES This study describes the performance of the first prospective validation of stress T1 mapping against invasive coronary measurements for detecting obstructiv...
متن کاملReproducibility of adenosine stress cardiovascular magnetic resonance in multi-vessel symptomatic coronary artery disease
PURPOSE First-pass perfusion cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) is increasingly being utilized in both clinical practice and research. However, the reproducibility of this technique remains incompletely evaluated, particularly in patients with severe coronary artery disease (CAD). The purpose of this study was to determine the inter-study reproducibility of adenosine stress CMR in patients...
متن کاملHigh resolution CMR perfusion imaging demonstrates reduced flow reserve and endo/epi ratio in microvascular coronary disease
Background Patients with angina without obstructive coronary artery disease are increasingly recognized and microvascular disease (MVD) is felt to play a significant role. Patients with MVD have an abnormal myocardial perfusion reserve (MPR). An abnormal MPR by positron emission tomography is prognostic of increased cardiovascular events, particularly in women, diabetics, and those with metabol...
متن کاملAdenosine stress perfusion CMR in young children: assessment of optimal imaging parameters
Background Adenosine stress perfusion CMR is commonly used for assessing coronary artery disease (CAD) in adults. CAD is uncommon in children, but does occur. There is limited experience performing adenosine stress perfusion CMR in young children. Performing stress perfusion CMR in young children presents a number of technical imaging challenges. Specific Aim: Evaluate image quality and optimal...
